Vale Students Celebrate Strong A and AS Level Results

Thursday, 13 August 2026 12:39

By Nathan Spackman

Pupils across the Vale of Glamorgan have once again delivered impressive A and AS Level outcomes, with results released today showing high achievement across schools in the county.

Nearly 35 per cent of A Level entrants secured an A or A* grade, while 81.8 per cent achieved grades between A* and C. Overall, 98.6 per cent of students attained results in the A* to E range.

Performance in AS Levels mirrored this success, with 29.1 per cent of papers awarded an A grade, 70.4 per cent graded A to C, and 93.5 per cent achieving A to E.

Cllr Rhiannon Birch, Vale of Glamorgan Council Cabinet Member for Education, Arts and the Welsh Language, said: “I would like to congratulate all young people across the Vale receiving their A and AS Level results.

“Today marks an important milestone for many students, and it is pleasing to see so many achieving strong results. These outcomes reflect the commitment, resilience and determination shown by pupils throughout their studies, and they should take great pride in what they have accomplished.

“Behind every student's success is a network of support, and I would like to thank our teachers, school staff and families for the encouragement, guidance and dedication they continue to provide.

“Whether students are moving on to higher education, training, employment or exploring other opportunities, I wish them the very best as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

“For those who may not have achieved the results they wanted, it is important to remember that there are still a range of pathways available. Advice and support can be accessed through Careers Wales and the Welsh Joint Education Committee to help young people consider their next steps and make informed decisions about the future.”
