Two men are being questioned on suspicion of shoplifting in Barry town centre.
Police received a 999 call from a business on Holton Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers arrested a man in his 20s and a man in his 30s within fifteen minutes of their arrival - the pair remain in custody.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Businesses in south Wales deserve to operate without worrying about issues like theft, and we are committed to finding those responsible."
