Fire crews spent over five hours tacklng a large refuse fire on farmland in Barry.
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was called out to Argae Lane at around 3.50pm on Sunday afternoon.
The blaze involved vegetation, containers, wood chippings, tyres, and farm machinery.
Crews used four hose reel jets, four 45m jets, six breathing apparatus and foam until the stop message was received at just after 9.05pm.
Nearby residents were advised to keep their windows and doors closed while crews dealt with the fire.
