A 16 year-old boy has died following a medical emergency at Barry Island Pleasure Park.
Emergency services - including the Wales Air Ambulance - were called to the amusement park at just before 5pm on Friday evening.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations are now underway to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
Earlier, police urged the public not to speculate about what happened.
In a statement, Barry Island Pleasure Park said its staff "did their best to assist the emergency services, but unfortunately, the boy suffered a medical emergency and could not be saved."
They added: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very sad time."
The park was closed shortly after the incident but it reopened to the public on Saturday morning.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called shortly before 4.45pm to an incident on Friars Road, Barry Island. We sent two emergency ambulances and two Cymru high acuity response unit paramedics to the scene."
"Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter."
