A volunteer group which supported Dinas Powys residents during flooding is being disbanded.
Sully-based CAVRA - the Civil Aid Voluntary Rescue Association - says it's been forced to close by the end of the month after efforts to continue its work through another organisation failed.
The group, which operated across South Wales, was instrumental in helping local residents affected when more than 100 homes were hit by flooding in both Dinas Powys and Sully in December 2020.
Its founding chairman, Ivor Davies, announced the closure following his decision to retire.
In a statement, he said: "Over the past month, alongside the other trustees, I have worked diligently to find an organisation that shares the same values and interests as CAVRA."
"We have engaged with SARA (Severn Area Rescue Association), but unfortunately, after consulting with their board, they are not in a position to continue our legacy."
"Having explored all avenues, the trustees and I have made the difficult decision to close CAVRA by the end of July 2024."
Mr Davies said all of CAVRA's assets will be donated to NILA (National Independent Lifeboat Association), who will distribute them to independently-run lifeboat stations in need of equipment.
He added: "All assets of CAVRA will be donated to NILA, who will distribute them to independent lifeboat stations in need of equipment."
