A construction firm has been appointed to build the new home of Ysgol Iolo Morganwg in Cowbridge.
The Welsh-medium primary school is preparing to double its capacity to 420 pupils in response to growing demand locally.
A new site has been earmarked near the Darren Close housing development to replace the current Victorian buildings on Broadway.
Kier Construction have been named as the preferred contractors for the project.
Ian Rees, Kier's regional director in Wales and the West, said: "We are incredibly proud of our significant presence in South Wales which has seen Kier deliver a number of education projects that have been transformational for both pupils and teachers."

Vale of Glamorgan Council says the new purpose built school will include flexible learning spaces to support the educational needs of learners and provide a "valuable resource" for Cowbridge and the surrounding areas.
The number of nursery places will go up to 96 - with plans to offer adult and community learning programs after school hours.
The council says the current Victoria-era site presents ongoing maintenance issues and limited potential expansion
