Five vehicles were involved in a collision between Cardiff Bay and Penarth on Saturday evening.
The A4232 was closed southbound following the incident at around 5.35pm on Saturday evening, with drivers being urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said no serious injuries were reported and the road was reopened to traffic at around 7.15pm.
