A former Barry Town Mayor raised over £3,400 for two charities during his year in office.
Cllr Ian Johnson, who stepped down in May, held a series of fundraising events throughout 2023-24 for Mind in the Vale and 2Wish.
He recently presented cheques to representatives from both charities, which offer support for mental health and child bereavement.
Cllr Johnson said: "I would like to thank everybody who supported me and our team at Barry Town Council in raising money for these two excellent causes."
"2Wish are a charity based in Llantrisant whose mission is to ensure that all those affected by the sudden and traumatic death of a child or young adult in Wales receive the bereavement support they deserve."
"Meanwhile, Mind in the Vale are a mental health charity based in Barry, working with and for people who experience mental health problems, providing information so people are aware of their rights and can make informed choices."
"In my year as Mayor, the team at Barry Town Council organised a range of events, including a craft fayre, charity quiz, acoustic gig night and Mayor’s raffle amongst others, and I’m grateful to everybody who attended or contributed in some way."
Cllr Johnson was succeeded as Mayor of Barry by Cllr Catherine Iannucci-Williams, who is halfway through her term in role and is supporting the Vale Foodbank and Shua (Safe House for Unwanted Animals) as her chosen charities.
