A former Mayor of Barry raised over £5,000 for her chosen charities during her year in office.
Cllr Catherine Iannucci-Williams supported the Vale Foodbank and the SHUA Trust (Safe House for Unwanted Animals).
The former Mayor presented cheques to both charities at Barry Town Hall after holding a series of fundraising events throughout her term.
She was succeeded by Cllr Dennis Clarke as Mayor of Barry in May.
Cllr Iannucci-Williams said: "I'm so proud of how much we raised for my charities this year, and would like to thank their trustees and volunteers for all the support they gave me at events throughout the year."
"Vale Foodbank and Shua do such important work in our community and I am so grateful for all they do."
The Vale Foodbank, which initially ran one centre in Barry when it opened in 2011, now runs six centres across the county for distributing emergency food parcels.
SHUA, which was launched in 2001, is a small animal welfare charity staffed by volunteers.
