A free collection service has been launched for fallen leaves and fruit by Vale Council.
From today, community groups and residents can book a collection for leaves and fruit that have fallen on public land or outside their property.
The new service, which was piloted last year, is aimed at those who don't pay for their garden waste to be collected.
Cllr Mark Wilson, cabinet member for neighbourhood eervices, said: "Our cleansing team work hard to keep the pavements safe and clean all year round." But with a lot of ground to cover, they always welcome a little help."
"After piloting the scheme last year, I am delighted to see the collection service officially launch."
"I hope the scheme makes it easier for community groups and those residents who don't have a garden waste subscription to clear their roads."
Collections can be booked via the Vale of Glamorgan Council website until Friday 13th December.
Residents who already pay for garden waste collections can place leaves and windfall fruit in their bag on their usual collection day until Friday 29th November - the day before they can book their subscriptions for the winter.
Community groups and anyone planning a larger scale street sweep are advised to email wwgeneralenquiries@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk to discuss collection arrangements.
