A local photographer is hosting his first solo exhibition at Barry's Art Central Gallery.
Malcolm Downes has keen a keen photographer for many years and is also an active member of the Barry Camera Club.
His debut exhibit, 'Refraction and Abstraction', was opened at a special reception by the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Cllr Elliot Penn.
The collection on show draws upon draws upon Malcolm's creative photographic styles.
He began working with 35mm film cameras to produce monochromatic prints, before progressing to using Macro photography to create detailed refraction droplet images of flower heads.
Other works include Intentional Camera Movement Imagery (ICM) photography, duplication imagery, and a glimpse of Astro photography all reflecting the artist's interests.
Cllr Elliot Penn said: "We are delighted to be able to host Malcolm's first solo show at Art Central Gallery."

'Refraction and Abstraction' can be seen each day - except Sundays - at the Art Central Gallery in Barry until Saturday 14th September.
