A Barry businessman and laywer has been inducted into the Gorsedd at the National Eisteddfod.
Geraint Evans, who is currently the chair of the Cardiff and Vale College Group, is among those honoured for their achievements and commitments to Wales, the Welsh language and local communities.
Mr Evans became an honorary druid on Friday when he was given the blue robes on the Maes at the festival, taking place on the outskirts of Wrexham.
A lawyer by trade, Mr Evans - whose uncle was the former Plaid Cymru president Gwynfor Evans - served as managing director of the former Dan Evans department store in Barry, which closed in 2006.
He was the chair of governors for Ysgol Bro Morgannwg in Barry when it was established in 2000, staying on in the role for a decade before moving to his current role at one of the UK's biggest colleges in 2011.
An Eisteddfod spokesperson said Mr Evans "promotes the Welsh language in every field in which he is involved, be that the world of education, business or culture."
"He has run several successful businesses and volunteered in the business and education sectors across Cardiff and the Vale, as well as nationally. A natural communicator, he has facilitated and promoted the Welsh language in Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan for over half a century."
Other inductees into Gorsedd Cymru this year included Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iorwerth, actor Mark Lewis Jones, Wrexham footballer Lili Jones, journalist Maxine Hughes and broadcasters Dewi Llwyd and Dylan Jones.
