Grangetown: two arrested after cyclist collision

Two people from the Vale are being questioned after a cyclist was hit by a vehicle in Cardiff’s Grangetown.

The collision happened on Dunleavy Drive at around 8.40am on Saturday morning.

Detectives say a 72 year-old man from Roath was taken to hospital with potentially life threatening injuries.

A 19 year-old man from Sully and his passenger, a 24 year-old woman from Dinas Powys, were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage should contact the Roads Policing Unit at South Wales Police on 101, quoting reference no. 2500155483.
