An inquest into the deaths of two women in a road collision has been opened and adjourned.
Beverley Puglsey (69) from Llandaff and Madeline Brooks (85) from Barry were killed in the two-vehicle collision near Wenvoe earlier this month.
Mrs Pugsley was driving a Nissan car when it was struck by an Audi vehicle on the A4050 Port Road at around 1.30pm on Saturday 2nd November.
Two men were taken to hospital following the collision.
A post mortem examination found both ladies had suffered neck and chest injuries.
Rachel Knight, assistant coroner for South Wales Central, told the Pontypridd hearing that she had reason to suspect both deaths were unnatural.
But the hearing was adjourned until a later date to allow police to complete a criminal investigation into the collision - with the case expected to be reviewed in six months time.
The family of Mrs Pugsley, who worked part-time as a researcher for BBC television, described her as "a quiet lady who loved her job''.
Mrs Brooks, a retired ballroom dancing teacher who was born in Penarth but lived in Barry for over 65 years, was described by her family as "a lively lady, full of energy".
