A free Kite Festival, which marks the summer solstice, is set to take place at the Knap later today.
An annual fixture in the Barry event calendar, organisers say this year is lining up to be better than ever.
Locals are being encouraged to arrive at 5:30pm on Saturday 21st June for what organisers say will be a celebration of nature, peace and friendship for all ages to enjoy.
The event is organised by Art4u, an organisation which aims to share art with the local community. The group also organises the annual Friendship Tree Festival, which is set to take place on Sunday, 6th July.
First held in 2010, with around 30 to 40 people in attendance the 2024 event saw up to 300 people turn up.
Those who don't have kites are also able to attend, with a selection of kites available for people to purchase, allowing everyone to be part of the fun.
The event is free to attend, but there will be an opportunity to make a voluntary donation to Art4u.
