The next monthly stand-up comedy night takes place on Friday 6th December.
On Friday 1st November Bro Radio's Gareth Knight and Fiona Barnard attended the recently launched comedy night at the Gallery Coffee House.
If you know Barry you may well be familiar with the Gallery on Broad Street. In its current guise, it is a social enterprise, with profits going back into supporting good causes in our community.
The Gallery also houses CUBE (Community United Barry 4 Everyone) a team of specialists who've come together to make a difference for families living with or affected by mental health, suicide, grief, loss, domestic abuse and substances.
To support its work, The Gallery Coffee House has branched out to offer a number of activities, including comedy nights to help support its work.
This was my and Fiona’s first visit to The Gallery and the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the sharing platter the chef cooked up was lip-smackingly good.
So to the comedy, for the price of £5 a ticket, we were treated to four comedians, Rhys David, Daniel Coughtery, Sam Rees, Ian Clarke, Carly O'Connor and Col Howarth, with Compère and organiser Mike Williams.
The room was nicely full, receptive and appreciative of the comedians and some good-natured audience banter was had.
I won’t repeat any of the jokes here because I am not a trained comedian, they don't work on the page and aren't really suitable for a family audience (although, that very much depends on the family!).
If you are looking for a fun night out on the run-up to Christmas and enjoy a laugh, why not support a local venue and what they do in the community while enjoying some great comedy?
