A drug dealer from Llantwit Major has been jailed for five-and-a-half years.
Jay Murray ran a so-called "drug line" offering crack cocaine and heroin despite already being on probation for previous offences.
Cardiff Crown Court heard the 24-year-old had sent out thousands of text messages each week.
He had been using someone else's flat near Salisbury Road as a base for his dealing - thereby exploiting the occupant, who was suffering from serious illness.
Organised crime detectives found the drug line matched the mobile phone number which Murray had used to contact police and probation officers during his release from prison.
In October 2023, they arrested Murray near the flat, where officers found crack cocaine, cocaine, cannabis and £1738 in cash.
Murray went onto plead guilty to charges of being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine, possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply and possessing criminal property (cash).
The court heard this was Murray's third drug dealing conviction, which carries a mandatory prison sentence of seven years.
But because he had entered guilty pleas at an early stage, the sentence was reduced by eighteen months.
