A 40 year-old man is being questioned following a disturbance at a house in Penarth.
Police were called to the Plymouth Road area at around 6.50pm on Tuesday evening - and the public were urged to stay away while officers were in attendance.
A 40 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and remains in custody.
No one was injured and at around 9.50pm, it was confirmed that the incident was over and the area was reopened.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said enquiries into the disutrbance were ongoing and added: "The local community are thanked for their patience and understanding during last night’s incident."
