A 52 year-old man was taken to hospital following a serious assault in Cardiff Bay.
Detectives say he was punched unconscious while standing on Louisa Place in Butetown at around 11pm on Monday night.
He needed treatment for serious head and facial injuries.
South Wales Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward - it's believed there were a number of people in the area at the time of the attack.
