The outgoing Mayor of Penarth has raised more than £5,200 for a cancer charity.
Cllr Gwenda Roberts has thanked town reisidents for their support after presenting a final cheque to Tenovus - her chosen charity during her year in office.
Cllr Roberts, who represents the St Augustine's ward, handed over the cheque to Tenovus' regional fundraising manager Clare Davies on Tuesday.
She said the final amount raised had far exceeded her expectations: "My heartfelt thanks to all the residents of Penarth who attended the coffee mornings and the concerts and who gave so generously throughout the year."
"A particular thank you to all the shops and businesses who took part and raised so much during ‘Pink Week’ in October. I am so grateful for all the support and very pleased that this amount can be raised for Tenovus to help them in their work in providing care and support for cancer patients and their families."
