A new 'placemaking' strategy has been drawn up for the Vale's four town centres.
Local councillors in Barry, Penarth, Llantwit Major and Cowbridge have reviewed the draft plans after working closely with Vale of Glamorgan Council and other partners.
The county council says they're aimed at transforming local communities into "vibrant, welcoming and resilient" places to live, work and visit.
Deputy leader Bronwen Brooks said: "This is about putting our communities first – actively engaging with residents, local businesses and community stakeholders and asking them about their ideas, priorities and hopes for the future."
"Placemaking is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about creating spaces that people feel proud of - places where you want to spend time, where businesses can grow, and where communities can thrive."
"Through countless conversations, events and surveys in Barry, Penarth, Llantwit Major and Cowbridge, we’ve listened carefully to what matters most to people in each town."

According to Vale of Glamorgan Council, the placemaking approach can involve everything from new developments to cultural events and small-scale community projects.
The Welsh Government's Wellbeing of Future Generations Act calls for a sustainable approach to improving social, economic, environmental and cultural lives.
The plans, due to be unveiled in the coming weeks, have been created following extensive consultation with local residents, businesses and community representatives.
The councl says the strategy will form a framework for its future spending as well as attracting funding from the wider public sector, as well as private and third sector investment.
The draft proposals will now be considered by the cabinet, and although the county council has supported their development, the resulting projects will be led by the four town councils in the Vale.
Cllr Bronwen Brooks added: "The plans break down projects into short, medium, and long-term goals. Some can be put into action straight away, while others are bigger, more complex projects that will take time, additional funding and collaboration from different partners to bring to life."
“At the heart of these plans is a shared ambition - held by everyone who took the time to shape them - to make sure our communities remain vibrant, resilient, and truly people-centred places for generations to come.”
