A new hourly train service on Sundays will be launched next month between Coryton and Penarth.
Transport for Wales (TfW) is introducing a number of changes to its timetables from Sunday 14th December, including more late night services on the Valley Lines.
There'll be a new early morning service from Mondays to Saturdays calling at all stations between Bridgend and Cardiff.
TfW says the new timetable will offer more options for travelling customers in the region and support the nighttime economy,
Transport Secretary Ken Skates said: "Railway connections are vital in driving prosperity. These changes will make a real difference to customers, who will benefit from more services across Wales and the Borders."
"This has been made possible by our £800m investment in brand-new trains for the Wales and Borders network."
The new Sunday service between Coryton and Penarth follows the rollout of new tri-mode electric trains during the summer.
On Friday nights, three later trains will run after midnight to Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil, including a connection to Cardiff Bay.
TfW said it would make journeys home "simple and stress free", particularly for theatregoers at the Wales Millennium Centre.
The new 5.37am service from Bridgend to Cardiff, targeting early commuters, will call at all stations and extend to Ebbw Vale.
