As Bonfire Night approaches, several organised displays are taking place at sports clubs and community fields across the Vale of Glamorgan.
The first local display is on Saturday, 1st November 2026, as Barry Town United present their Annual Firework Display. Entry is from the Barry Road and Gladstone Road turnstiles from 5 pm, with food, drink, stalls and rides, before the fireworks are set off at 8 pm.
Entry is £5 for adults and £3 for children via the FanBase App.
Following a fundraising campaign by the local community, plus support from St Athan Veterans Club and Ecube, fireworks will return to St Athan on Tuesday, 4th November. Running from St Athan Golf Club, located off Cowbridge Road, the event starts at 6:15 pm with entry free of charge.
On Wednesday, 5th November, Bonfire Night itself, four fireworks displays take place across the Vale of Glamorgan.
- Barry RFC will host its annual Bombers Community Fireworks at the Reservoir Fields, Merthyr Dyfan Road. Gates open at 5:30 pm for food, drink and live entertainment, with fireworks at 7:15 pm. Tickets are available via the Barry RFC App.
- Llantwit Major Rugby Club presents its Fireworks Extravaganza on Boverton Road. The event is free to attend, with a bar, food stalls, amusements and more. Gates open at 5 pm, with the fireworks being set off at 7 pm.
- Penarth RFC's Fireworks Fiesta returns at the Penarth Athletic Ground, Lavernock Road. Gates open at 6:30 pm, with hot food and drinks, with the fireworks being set off at 7:30 pm. Tickets are £6 per person, with limited undercover tickets in the Memorial Stand for £12 via www.ticketsource.co.uk/penarth-rfc2025
- Rhoose Social Club on Fontygary Road will host a fireworks night display for the 19th year running, with a bonfire lit at 6:15 pm and fireworks being set off at 6:30 pm. Entry is free; however, donations are being taken via a bucket collection.
On the evening of Friday, 7th November, four further displays are set to take place in the Vale of Glamorgan:
- Penarth Llawn Tennis Club is hosting a sold-out display at the Clubhouse on Rectory Road. Organisers say no tickets are available.
- Sully Sports and Social Club in association with the Rotary Club of Barry and District, present the Sully Fireworks Fiesta. With 2 licensed bars, a funfair, food stalls, attractions and free parking. Entry is from 4 pm, with fireworks at 6:30 pm. Tickets are available at £5 per person, with under 3's going free via https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fireworks-fiesta-tickets-1719167920529
- Three Horseshoes Moulton presents its annual Bonfire Night event, including BBQ, Bonfire and its Firework Display. Tickets are £10 per person or £30 for a family of four. Purchase at the gate or call 01446710428 to book.
Llanerch Vineyard will also be hosting an additional display on Saturday, 8th November, from 6 pm, following the sell-out of its Friday event.
