Cardiff Airport chiefs say passenger numbers have increased during the first half of 2024.
Management at the Rhoose airport say it's being a "strong summer season" so far - after figures revealed an 8% rise in customers between January and July, compared to the same time in 2023.
The Spanish resorts of Alicante and Malaga were the most popular destinations among Cardiff passengers this summer, followed by Amsterdam, Majorca and Dublin.
This year has seen TUI add an extra 12,000 holidays flying out of the Vale, while Vueling has added extra to flights to Malaga in September and October, with Ryanair continuing its Tenerife route during the winter season.
From October, the Icelandic-run PLAY airlines will launch a temporary twice-weekly service to Keflavik, with connecting flights to New York, Boston, Baltimore, Washington and Toronto.
In May, the Welsh Government-owned airport also opened two new catering facilities in its departure lounge.
And last month, ministers announced an extra £206 million would be spent on further upgrades to facilities with the airport aiming to target two million passengers a year - although the plans must be reviewed by the Competition and Markets Authority.
Spencer Birns, chief executive of Cardiff Airport, said: “We’ve had a positive year so far, with growth in the number of customers using their National Airport."
"We’re really pleased to hear feedback from our customers that they’re enjoying improved facilities in the terminal. Our teams and partners have been working really hard to enhance customer experience."
"This year, we’ve also celebrated some great milestones with partners like Balkan Holidays, which started popular direct flights to Bulgaria 45 years ago from Cardiff Wales Airport."
