A Penarth man has been questioned by detectives on suspicion of inciting racial hatred online.
South Wales Police say three people were arrested on suspicion of displaying threatening, abusive or insulting written material with intent or likely to stir up racial hatred.
The 27 year-old has been released on bail pending further enquiries until Thursday 7th November.
A 33 year-old woman and a 39 year-old man from the Blaengwynfi area were also questioned for similar offences and released on bail until November.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Powell from South Wales Police said: “I hope that our swift response to these incidents sends a very clear message that there will be serious consequences for those who think they can publish hateful, racial or prejudiced posts.”
Meanwhile, two men from the Tonypandy area pleaded guilty to publishing threatening material on a Facebook account intending to stir up religious hatred. A third defendant, also from Tonypandy, pleaded guilty and was remanded until Friday 23rd August.
