A sex attacker who targeted a man sleeping in his Penarth flat has been jailed for eight years.
Guy Watson filmed the assaults on his mobile phone - and a phone belonging to his victim - at his flat on Stanwell Road in April 2022.
He denied a total of seven sex offences but was found guilty by a jury following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court in June.
The court heard Watson (33) had been drinking and listening to music with his victim, who was in a "deep sleep" when he was assaulted.
South Wales Police said the man cannot recall anything further from when he had been socialising with the defendant - and only discovered what happened a month later when he found footage on his mobile phone.
Police arrested Watson on Christmas Day 2022 - and officers soon found videos of the sex attacks on his phone, before finding more footage when they traced the victim.
Watson was convicted on five counts of sexual assault and two of causing a male to engage in sexual activity without consent.
He was ordered not to contact the victim under a ten-year restraining order and must sign the sex offenders' register indefinitely.
Detective Constable Christopher Day from South Wales Police, who led the investigation, said: "This incident has had a profound effect on the victim’s mental health, his employment, and his relationships."
"In April 2022, he and Watson were socialising in Watson’s flat in Stanwell Road, Penarth, where they were drinking and listening to music."
“The victim cannot recall anything further from this point and the first he knew of being sexually assaulted was when videos were found on his mobile phone approximately a month later."
“We hope today’s sentencing gives the victim some comfort as he continues to rebuild his life and put this trauma behind him.”
A spokesperson for South Wales Police added the force "takes all reports of sexual violence extremely seriously and it is never too late to report a crime."
"We would encourage any victims; no matter how long ago the offence happened, to come forward."
