Two local men have been charged with shoplifting in Penarth town centre.
Detectives say Joseph Simmonds (26) and Dean Barry (45) have been banned from entering the town centre as part of their bail conditions.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said they "would like to reassure the public that people travelling into Penarth town centre to commit crime will be identified and prosecuted."
No further details are available.
Anyone with information about shoplifting in their area should contact South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
