Supermarket chain Aldi has announced plans for a new store in Barry, as part of a £7 million investment.
The new store will be located on land at the former gas holder site off Cardiff Road and will feature 113 car parking spaces, including seven accessible spaces, eight parent and child spaces, and one taxi space.
The new store will also include 10 vehicle charging points, including four rapid EVC bays and infrastructure for further expansion in the future.
Discussions about an Aldi store in Barry have been ongoing for a number of years, with this being the first in Barry, with the nearest stores at Culverhouse Cross and Ferry Road.

Rob Jones, Aldi real estate director, said: "We are thrilled to bring forward plans for a new Aldi store in Barry, investing over £7 million in the local area and creating up to 40 jobs.
"We encourage residents to participate in our consultation to learn more about the scheme and share their views."
A pre-application consultation will run from Thursday, November 6, until midnight on Thursday, December 4.
Residents can view the plans and submit feedback through a virtual exhibition at https://aldiconsultation.co.uk/barry/ or attend an in-person consultation event at Cadoxton Bowling Club, Victoria Park Road, Barry, CF63 2JS on Thursday 27th November, between 3pm & 4pm.
