Vale Surf Life Saving Club has issued a warning about the high tidal range, after a club training session was interrupted by a paddleboarder in danger.
Vale Surf Life Saving Club was established in 2017 and aims to promote and provide surf lifesaving skills and sport for all ages and abilities.
Earlier this week, the club's regular training session was put on hold when one of its members noticed paddle boarders in difficulty around the point at Jackson's Bay.
It led to some of their juniors and masters paddling out and helping to rescue those in difficulty, safely bringing them back to shore.
A spokesperson for the club said, "Our members were brilliant and worked together as a team to ensure the safety of everyone. We are very proud of them."
The club has issued a warning to others visiting Whitmore Bay and Jacksons Bay, known for its extremely high tidal range.
"With this warm weather comes lots of people to the beaches and in the sea- it is vital that people coming down to Jackson’s Bay and Barry Island know the risks of the water due to the extremely high tidal range here. Always know the conditions, tides, and risks before entering the water."
