Three people have been arrested following a police chase involving a stolen car.
A police car was rammed by the driver of the stolen vehicle, which had false plates, during the high speed pursuit on Monday night.
The driver and his two passengers sped along the M4, through the village of Pendoylan and towards Barry before they were finally caught.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Our highly-skilled roads policing officers have a few tricks up their sleeves and with the assistance of the police helicopter, police dogs and officers on the ground, three people who thought they could get away with putting other motorists and pedestrians in danger were soon arrested and taken in to custody."
The three suspects were also arrested for drugs offences while the driver was further arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and attempted grievous bodily harm of a police officer.
The officer driving the damaged police car walked away from the pursuit without serious injury.
