American acapela folk band The Windbourne Singers will be appearing at the first of this year's Barry Arts Festival concerts.
The quartet, from Vermont and Massachusetts, are embarking on a UK tour which includes dates at Celtic Connections in Glasgow, the Cambridge Music Festival and a candlelit concert in London's Trafalgar Square.
They will be appearing at St Mary's Church on Holton Road on St Dwynwen's Day - Saturday 25th January - at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).
The group's UK tour follows the release of their new album, 'To Warm The Winter Hearth', which includes a collection of folk songs from around the world - including tracks sung in Occitan and Lithuanian - drawing upon their collective knowledge and experience as specialists
Barry Arts Festival organiser, Dot Connell, said: "We are looking forward to hearing this remarkable group sing live for us here in Barry."
"They are an internationally acclaimed world folk band who specialise in close harmony singing, shifting between varying styles of traditional music within the same concert."
"When I heard that they were on tour, I just couldn't wait to book them and have them come to sing for us in Barry."
"As always, we would like to thank sponsors Barry Town Council for their support for the arts in Barry, and in helping us to put on high quality, international bands here in the town."
Tickets for the concert are available from The Vinyl Frontier on Holton Road or via the Barry Arts Festival's Ticketsource page.
