53 new council homes have been completed on Hayeswood Road in Barry.
It's the latest in a series of developments as part of Vale Council's long-term plan to tackle the housing crisis.
The new homes - containing up to four bedrooms are situated on land near the Atlantic Trading Estate, which was brought by the council from the Welsh Government.
It follows in the footsteps of other schemes in Barry such as Llys Llechwedd Jenner, Lon y Felin Wynt and Clos Holm View.
Council leader Lis Burnett said: “The council is committed to tackling the housing crisis being experienced around the country by developing sites like Hayeswood Road."

“The number of people requiring accommodation like this has increased sharply since the pandemic and is an issue we are working hard to address."
"This is the latest project of its kind to be completed in Barry where need is at its greatest and other sites are also nearing completion. It features top quality properties that provide comfortable modern homes for people to live."
Construction work is continuing on more council home schemes at the site of the former Colcot clinic and Coldbrook Road East, along with the second phase of the Clos Holm View project.

But the Hayeswood Road scheme is the first to have been self-delivered by Vale Council by retaining existing sub-contractors and directly appointing others from the community in order to support the local economy.
A council spokesperson said the development, adjacent to a previous scheme on Hayes Road, will offer residents "energy efficient new homes constructed to the highest specifications suitable for families, couples and single people."
