Detectives are hunting thieves who targeted work vans in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to steal power tools.
Across the region, at least seven vans were broken into on Thursday night.
The worst affected areas were in Barry, Penarth, Sully and Ely in Cardiff.
South Wales Police say the thefts are being investigated - and the force is reminding vehicle owners to remove tools and other items overnight.
A spokesperson said: ”We understand that having your van or work vehicle stolen, broken into and contents stolen can be very distressing.”
“When you’re parking your van, even for short periods, please think carefully about where you are stopping.”
”Parking with the rear or side doors against a wall or very sturdy railings will help to ensure that they can’t be prised open.”
“Please consider removing tools and other items from vehicles overnight.“
