A 38-foot yacht with one person on board was rescued after it ran aground near Penarth during the August Bank Holiday.
The RNLI at Barry Dock sent out both of its lifeboats to the scene just east of the Wrach Channel cardinal buoy on Bank Holiday Monday.
They found the lone sailor panicking as their communications were dropping in and out.
A volunteer crew member from the inshore lifeboat laid an anchor to refloat the yacht after finding there was no damage or water coming in.

The all-weather lifeboat was stood down while the yacht was safely refloated and the engine restarted, before making its way to Cardiff Bay marina with the sailor "reassured and happy to continue".
The inshore lifeboat was later redirected to help with a mass casaulty incident near Friars Point alongside RNLI colleagues, including Whitmore Bay lifeguards.
