A teenager has been questioned by detectives investigating a serious assault on a 15 year-old boy at Barry Island.
Police are still appealing for witnesses following the alleged group attack near Paget Road car park at around 7.30pm on Tuesday evening.
The victim needed hospital treatment after suffering minor injuries.
A 16 year-old boy from the Gwent area was arrested in connection with the assault and has since been released on bail.
South Wales Police said it was a "cowardly and vicious attack...which could have ended far worse".
Social media footage of the incident has also been examined as part of their investigation.
Detective Inspector Philip Marchant from Barry CID said: "I am sure the local community will be pleased to know that we have made an arrest. Our investigation into the incident is continuing and anyone who may be able to assist is urged to get in touch."
"Local officers are continuing to patrol the area during these busy Summer months to ensure the public are able to enjoy what the area has to offer feeling safe and reassured."
