The first of this season's Five Mile Lane derbies saw Barry Town United beaten 4-1 at Cymru Premier leaders Penybont.
Manager Steve Jenkins was forced into making a late change with Elliot Richards coming in for the injured Mikey George, while Josh Yorwerth returned after serving a one-game ban.
Barry took the lead in the 40th minute as Harrison Bright cut inside and blasted the ball into the top corner of the net for his first league goal - and a probable goal-of-the-season contender at that.
But the league leaders were level five minutes after the break, when Kane Owen's low drive deflected off Yorwerth and evaded keeper Luc Rees.
The Bont skipper got his brace on 72 minutes, when he drilled the ball home from outside the box.
Barry's defence were left wanting as Nathan Wood struck from long range to extend the hosts' lead on 81 minutes, before Chris Venables sealed the points for Penybont less than three minutes later.
A first defeat in four league games leaves Barry in eighth - and three points off the top six - as they look to bounce back next Saturday at home to Briton Ferry Llansawel (2.30pm ko)
Beyond that, Barry and Penybont meet again in the quarter finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup at Jenner Park on Wednesday 22nd October.
