A Barry man who raped and sexually abused four young girls has been jailed for 24 years.
Mark Jones was convicted on a total of 29 charges, including three of raping a child under 13, six counts of sexual assault and two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
Cardiff Crown Court heard Jones' crimes only came to light when one of his victims later approached police.
The 65 year-old denied the charges but he was found guilty by a jury last December.
Detective Constable Natalie Revers of South Wales Police said: “Mark Jones is a sexual predator who preyed on the vulnerability of multiple victims, so we are pleased with the court outcome following his offences."
“Despite the ages of the victims, Jones’ actions have had a profound effect on them. We hope that this sentence helps the victims and their families move forward.”
Jones was also sentenced to an extended licence period of a year and put under a restraining order which prevents him from contacting any of his victims.
