Two Fairtrade supporters handed out free bananas to Barry Town United fans at Jenner Park at the weekend.
Town councillors Ian Johnson and Nic Hodges dressed up as bananas for their Cymru Premier home game against Connah's Quay Nomads, as part of international Fairtrade Fortnight celebrations.
This year marks ten years since Barry was granted freetrade status with a number of events being held in the town, including a quiz night at the Cemetery Approach Community Centre
Cllr Johnson, who chairs the Globally Responsible Barry committee, said: "This year, Barry Town Council is celebrating ten years as a fairtrade town, promoting the choices that we, as consumers, can make to support fairer international trade."
"Fairtrade Fortnight is an opportunity to highlight the power that we have as customers to make ethical choices and buy goods that help, rather than exploit, farmers in less affluent countries."
