A petition has been launched calling for better facilities at Eastbrook Train Station in Dinas Powys.
Led by the Plaid Cymru group, the petition claims that the station has been overlooked for previous funding to install lift facilities.
In 2020 new lifts were installed at Cadoxton train station, with improvements also made to Barry train station in 2022, both as part of multi-million-pound transformations, supported by Network Rail, the UK Government and Transport for Wales.
Earlier this week Plaid Cymru Councillors on the Transport Liaison group Malcolm Phillips, Debbie Evans, Kay Shaw, Chris Franks and Anne Asbrey met with Senedd MS Heledd Fychan and members of the public to launch the campaign to get access to all facilities at Eastbrook station.
On social media, Dinas Powys Community Councillor Malcolm Phillip said "The station discriminates as it prevents many people from using the train service because of the lack of facilities to cross from one platform to the other, especially those with prams, pushchairs and mobility scooters."
The campaign will be backed by a petition, with Plaid members in the Senedd raising the issue of why Eastbrook has previously been overlooked for funding by Welsh Government, Network Rail and Transport for Wales.
