Carers working in the Vale are being encouraged to understand and recognise their rights.
Vale Council joined in marking the recent Carers Rights Day, which aims to help workers get the advice and support they need.
There are around 310,000 unpaid carers across Wales, offering support to partners, family members or friends - but many don't see themselves as carers and are often unaware of the benefits available to them.
According to a survey, half of all carers identify themselves as simply people helping loved ones, without realising they qualify for legal rights and resources.
Vale Council says the lack of awareness can leave many feeling isolated or unsupported.
Cllr Eddie Williams, cabinet member for health and social care, said: "We are committed to raising awareness and ensuring carers—whether they realise their role or not—know they are not alone and can access the help they need."
“There is a range of support for people in this position and I would encourage anyone to get in touch to find out more.”
Further information on carers rights can be found on the Carers Wales website.
