A new production of Brandon Thomas' Victorian farce Charley's Aunt is coming to Dinas Powys in April.
It marks the return of the White Cat Theatre to the town's Parish Hall, following their successful production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
One of the world's longest running plays - first performed in 1892 - two Oxford undergraduates, Jack and Charley, desperately want to propose to their sweethearts before they go to Scotland for the summer.
Charley's very rich aunt is visiting him from Brazil and can act as chaperone - but when she can't make it at the last time, the boys are forced to take action.
Director Robert Gairey, who joins the White Cat Theatre for the first time, said: "Brandon Thomas' 'Charley's Aunt' is very much a slapstick version of Oscar Wilde's 'The Importance of Being Earnest' but is still full of witty dialogue that audiences love."
"The cast are working very hard on the required physical comedy for the show, bringing the characters to life. It really is a laugh a minute and I can't wait for people to see what this talented cast and crew have been up to."
The company's previous performances have included The Importance of Being Earnest, alongisde Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit and an adaptation of Shakespeare's Merry Wives of Windsor by Flora Freeman.
'Charley's Aunt' can be seen at the Dinas Powys Parish Hall from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th April. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 7.30pm with a bar and refreshments available. There'll be two short intervals with the show finishing at 10pm.
Tickets can be bought on the door - cash and card accepted - or in advance by visiting the White Cat Theatre Ticketsource page or calling 0333 666 3366.
