A cyclist is seriously ill in hospital after he was hit by a car in West Aberthaw.
Emergency services were called to the B4265 at around 9.20pm on Thursday evening.
The collision involved a Mitsbuishi Mirage driven by a 63 year-old man from Porth and a bike ridden by a 22 year-old man from Barry.
South Wales Police said the cyclist was taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, where he is in a serious condition.
The road was closed both ways between Fontagary Road in Rhoose and Gileston Road in St Athan before it reopened to traffic at around 7am this morning.
An investigation into the collision is continuing.
