Transport for Wales (TfW) has completed its rollout of brand new electric trains on the Core Valley Lines.
The 'tri-mode' Class 756 trains were first introduced onto the Penarth and Coryton lines in July, offering more capacity and accessibility, as well as faster and more frequent services.
From this weekend, the entire fleet of 24 electric trains is now running on five lines in the region, including Treherbert, Aberdare and Merthyr.
TfW says the rollout across the South Wales Valleys forms part of the Welsh Government's £800 million investment programme.
Transport Minister Ken Skates, speaking at Coryton station, said: "We are working hard to deliver better transport for people across Wales, so I am delighted that the full rollout of the brand-new 756 electric trains is now complete."
"This marks another significant milestone on our mission to upgrade all the Core Valley Lines and deliver a turn-up-and go metro service."
"And with Pay As You Go available in over 90 stations, more people will now be able to travel for cheaper and benefit from the service these state-of-the art trains provide."

The Class 756 trains - which can switch to diesel or battery power on non-electricfied routes - boast 50% more capacity, along with improved acceleration and more accessibility, including level boarding.
Previously, the Class 231 trains ran on the Penarth line for over a year before they were moved to services covering Barry and Barry Island.
In March, TfW apologised after admitting that local services for Penarth and Coryton had not been good enough - although they maintain that cancellations have since been "significantly reduced" and punctuality on the Coryton line has improved.
Marie Daly, TFW's chief operating officer, added: "We're excited to now have brand-new electric trains running on the Coryton line and improving the customer experience for all those who travel with us."
"These modern trains offer more capacity, improved seating, modern air conditioning, power sockets, Wifi and passenger information screens with up-to-the-minute travel information. They’ll also feature automatic level boarding and space for up to six bikes."
