The new family-friendly festival will take place on 5 September 2026, running from 11am to 6pm, and promises a full day of food, fun and entertainment celebrating two of Britain’s favourite snacks.
The announcement has already sparked huge interest, with organisers saying the response since launch has been “incredible”.
Event consultant Ross Mackintosh said: “I wanted to put a smile on people’s faces when they see or hear about this festival. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for years because, let’s face it, everyone loves a packet of crisps.”
The festival will offer visitors a free packet of crisps on arrival, alongside crisp sandwich trailers, loaded jacket potatoes, crisp‑themed activities, and even the chance to vote for their favourite crisp. Attractions will also explore the history of crisps, with interactive zones and hands‑on fun for children, alongside the usual Fonmon Castle Attractions.
Mackintosh added that the idea has already attracted international attention. “We’ve only just launched it and the response has been incredible; it’s gone wild. Within days, we’d already been approached by crisp companies from Spain and America who want to get involved.”
Live entertainment will run throughout the day, including tribute acts to ABBA, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars and Sabrina Carpenter, plus a DJ, stage games and a fully stocked bar. Entry also includes access to the full Fonmon Castle park and its attractions.
“As far as I know, nothing quite like this has ever been done in the UK before,” Mackintosh said. “Like all our events at Fonmon, we’ve kept the ticket prices really low… We wanted to create the happiest festival in Britain, it turns out the secret ingredient wasn’t world‑famous bands or celebrity chefs, it was a free packet of crisps.”
Tickets and further details are available via the Fonmon Castle website.
