South Wales Police have thanked a Bridgend gardening firm after its staff stepped in to help clear a fallen tree that was blocking a road near St Brides Major.
Officers were managing the incident yesterday when a team from H&M Gardening Services of Bridgend happened to be passing. The tree had come down across part of the carriageway, restricting access and requiring police to control the scene.
According to the force, the gardeners immediately stopped to offer assistance. Working alongside officers, they helped remove the obstruction, allowing the road to be reopened safely and enabling police to return to patrol duties.
South Wales Police said the gesture was a welcome example of community spirit and did not go unnoticed.
A spokesperson added that the force was grateful for the team’s quick thinking and support.
