An inquest into the death of father-of-one Kamran Aman in Barry has been opened and adjourned.
A post-mortem found the 38 year-old suffered a single stab wound to the chest during a disturbance in the Barry Road area at just before midnight on Monday 30th June.
Pontypridd Coroner's Court heard Mr Aman was pronounced dead shortly afterwards, despite efforts by the public, police and paramedics to save him.
Kerrie Burge, the area coroner for South Wales Central, adjourned the hearing until a later date while a criminal investigation continues into Mr Aman's death.
Two teenage boys, aged 16 and 17, from Llantwit Major have been charged with murder.
The pair, who cannot be named due to their ages, are being held in youth custody and will appear at a plea hearing at Cardiff Crown Court in August.
Mr Aman was described by his family as "a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend."
In a statement via police, they said: "Known for his, generous spirit, and kind heart, Kamran brought warmth and strength to everyone he met. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew him."
