A father-of-two has married his long-term partner while learning to walk again in hospital.
Gareth Morgan has been treated at a specialist unit in Llandough Hospital after discovering he had a life-changing health condition.
In April, the 38 year-old carpet fitter from Port Talbot woke up unable to feel or move his legs.
He had been suffering with back ache for around a week and thought at first that it was simply a pulled muscle.
But when he was taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea, it emerged Gareth had lost the feeling from his down and had to undergo surgery on the same day to remove seven spinal abscesses.
Five weeks later, he was transferred to the rehabilitation unit at Llandough, where he worked on his wheelchair and mobility skills, while having to cope with living away from his family.

Gareth was already engaged to Samantha, having been together for 23 years - and despite a traumatic few months, the pair went ahead and tied the knot in August, while he was still a patient at Llandough.
“We have been engaged for years but we could never decide what sort of thing we wanted,” Gareth said.
“We planned the wedding in six weeks as we wanted something to look forward to after a rubbish few months.
“The wedding day was amazing, very relaxed and stress free, it was beautiful from start to finish."
