One person was taken to hospital after they went missing near Rhoose Point.
Emergency services were tasked by the Coastguard at just after 4.40pm last Thursday afternoon (22nd January)
The RNLI at Barry Dock said both of its all-weather and inshore lifeboats were sent out, alongside the Coastguard helicopter from St Athan.
The helicopter's searchlight managed to quickly locate the missing person near the shoreline amid fading daylight.
An RNLI spokesperson said: "The individual was assisted up the beach by the Coastguard Rescue Team and passed into the care of a waiting ambulance."
