South Wales Police say they have stepped up their presence in Kings Square, Barry, after residents and businesses raised concerns about anti-social behaviour and shoplifting in the area.
Officers have been working alongside the Vale of Glamorgan Council to respond to the issues, with increased patrols now in place and regular drop‑in sessions being held at Barry Library.
The informal sessions are designed to give people of all ages the chance to speak directly with officers, raise concerns, and discuss any policing matters affecting them.
A recent community event in Kings Square brought together police, council representatives and local families, highlighting ongoing efforts to strengthen engagement and improve safety in the town centre.
South Wales Police are encouraging anyone with concerns to get in touch. Non‑emergency reports can be made online, via 101, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Residents are reminded to call 999 in an emergency.
