The Run4Wales Barry Island 10k takes place this Sunday, with temporary road closures in place to facilitate the delivery of the event.
Organisers say closures will take place over Saturday, 16th May and Sunday, 17th May.
Roads along the route—including Friars Road, Paget Road, Ffordd y Mileniwm, Broad Street (A4055), Park Avenue, Romilly Park Road, and the Barry Island promenade—will be closed to all vehicular traffic, including pedal cycles. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
Closures will begin at various times depending on location, with some roads closing from 12:01am and others from 9:00am.
From approximately 10:45am, roads will begin to reopen in sequence as the final participants pass.
All roads, except Friars Road and Paget Road, are expected to reopen by 2:00pm, with full reopening later in the day.
Visitors to Barry Island are advised that Nells Point Car Park will be closed from 9:00am until at least 11:45am, whilst additional traffic management will be in place after the event to minimise congestion.
Organisers say that all opening and closure timings are approximate, reflecting when they hope to re-open once the last runners have passed and temporary infrastructure has been collected.
